Every spiritual movement utilises the “Sri ” principle in the form of beauty , knowledge, and material opulences within their preaching methods. This is seen worldwide and displayed in various cultures with beautiful buildings , beautiful and highly educated followers , as well as the opulences of much wealth associated with spiritual movements. Every opulence is a benediction from Divinity and His consort the Supreme Goddess of fortune , who manifests Herself in different forms , as written on by Srila Jiva Goswami in his Bhagavat Sandarbha.
However, to gain real wealth of spiritual wisdom one requires benedictions beyond external opulences, external opulences bring benedictions of all kinds but are equally liable to bring many entanglements , the entanglements of false pride and false prestige. The person lacking opulences should humbly recognise the opulences of others , but whether one has or does not have material opulences , the supreme opulences that are benedicted by Srimati Radharani have been made especially available, via Sri Caitanya Mahāprabhu in current times. One should use everything in spiritual life and reject little, but centre everything correctly under the directions of the Gaudia Vaisnava acaryas within the param para .Srila Sanatana Gosvami kept a wish fulfilling touchstone in the garbage bin , and the Goswami’s voluntarily accepted external poverty, but what knowledge, richness and opulences did they have in their hearts . All opulences are excellent when accepted in humility and used in the direct services God .

janmaiśvarya-śruta-śrībhir edhamāna-madaḥ pumān naivārhaty abhidhātuṁ vai tvām akiñcana-gocaram
Translation
My Lord, Your Lordship can easily be approached, but only by those who are materially exhausted. One who is on the path of [material] progress, trying to improve himself with respectable parentage, great opulence, high education and bodily beauty, cannot approach You with sincere feeling.
It behoves everyone of us to associate with others , and thus the principles and benefits of association are well known. One should intelligently choose good association and wise council, and understand who is bringing real friendship. The Gaudia Vaisnava acaryas and the Vedas as a whole implicitly instruct us to take real advantage of the human form of life and directly associate with the Supreme Personality of Godhead, the Supreme male and importantly the Supreme Goddess of fortune, the supreme female .Both the male and female principles are to be essentially understood , the Visaya and Ashraya principles are revealed within the Vedas .The female principles bring us into the direct association of the one Supreme Visaya . The Supreme Personality of Godhead, the autocratic enjoyer who invites us all to associate with Him .
In yoga practices , both within karma yoga, jnana yoga , astanga yoga and Bhakti yoga the Supreme Goddess of fortune is communicated with in one of Her many forms , but within Bhakti yoga She is realised with the full manifestion of all her opulences as Srimati Radharani in Her abode , where the simple opulences of Vrndavana far surpass all the wealth and opulences within in the best of heavenly kingdoms.

“Krishna gives assurance in the Bhagavad-gita that if one is very serious to perfect his Krishna Consciousness , then automatically , out of His Causeless Mercy , Lord Krishna gives such sincere soul the intelligence Krishna and His bona fide representatives are giving this knowledge freely to everyone. “
Some atheistic people spend their whole time hating on God . Indeed, they spent more time thinking of God than some theists . According to Narada Muni’s words in the 7th Canto of the Srimad Bhagavatam , because God is unaffected by praise or enmity , the atheistic becomes purified , even by their thinking of God in unfavorable ways. God is equal to all , but if someone wants God as a friend then God becomes a friend , if one wants God as an enemy , then God will become the best enemy .
How can this be , and what are the repercussions of this . There are many other examples in the Srimad Bhagavatam of various persons who have emotional thoughts towards Divinity . Its recorded emotional exchanges such as lust ,anger , and envy , when directed towards Krishna , purify a persons consciousness . God is absolute , He lives in an absolute realm beyond the dualities of this world. The Sun is neutral and has the potency to purify any foul substance.
Sri Caitanya Mahāprabhu recently appeared and has taught that the chanting of the names of God immediately purifies any heart no matter what has gone before. The souls have been caught up in millions of lives of pain and struggle . Pain and struggle come to us as a result of us giving pains and causing others to struggle and not just in this life , but billions . Nevertheless , Sri Caitanya Mahaprabhu is excusing us our due karmic reactions , and is immediately bringing us a most magnanimous display of mercy above justice, allowing us to enter the highest realms of the spiritual kingdoms. The names of God are trancendental and are as pure as God . God is fully manifested in His names. Krishna, along with His full potency, can be realised along with all His associates by associating with His names .The forms of God are not different from His names that He has personally accepted because His devotees have effectionally given them to Him . Many particular benedictions are awarded to anyone who chants God’s names , even without any previous qualifications . Immediately one can feel His presence, the Maha mantra is especially powerful , Sri Sri Radha Krishna, and the spiritual realms are within this mantra .The female principal is important, and She brings many benedictions Herself including wealth, beauty, and knowledge , the real benedictions are in Her form as Srimati Radharani , She allows us entrance and reveals knowledge of Goloka Vrndavana . In Her aspect of Durga Devi She brings us to our senses by inflicting the rod of chastisement, as any good mother should .
Sri Caitanya Mahāprabhu and His sankirtana movement is bringing the greatest benedictions for all of humanity, and even the creatures are benedicted .These benedictions are beyond the comprehension of living beings. Mahāprabhu gives a taste and understanding of the highest planes of the spiritual realms and the Gaudia Vaisnava acaryas are distributing this knowledge, by their association one can bring the mercy of Mahāprabhu on one’s head .
I can say for myself although being in association of devotees for 10 years or so and rendering services of all kinds , first as a Nama Hatta member , then joining and rendering service’s within temples and of course reading Prabhupadas books since 1979 .., it was not until I personally heard from Srila Gour Govinda Swami in 1988 , and had the good fortune of his personal association ..that the messages of Prabhupada and the teachings of our param para acaryas began to penetrant . His simple messaging carried full trancendental potency . He would say . “give all pleasure to Krishna ,”or the “stupid mind needs strict discipline , inflicted by Sadhu Guru vaisnava , or ” are you relishing the topic ” There are countless other trancendental potent snippets one could share of his way of explaining tattva and how to properly understand it by personal dedication and following correctly . Srila Gour Govinda Swami’s rasika descriptions of Caitanya Lila and Krishna Lila , which he relishes and shares , are very unique, and they are trancendentally and eternally benefiting those that hear with faith and connections. His deep insights to every aspect of the Gaudia Vaisnava tattva were astounding , in the late 80s and 90s, they were essential to ISKCON. and he would literally sing them out ..His dedication to Srila Prabhupada and ISKCON, are shown in his words ” tolerate and cooperate” , which he showed the perfect example of , even when GBC made wrong decisions on aspects of management or tattva or stopped his world preaching tours . His trancendental pure sounds , along with his bhajans, have the potency to permanently and eternally enter the heart . Sri Guru has the potency to make the service of Radha Krishna ones only goal , and that’s real Diksa or Sisksa. Srila Sridhar Swami says , Srila Prabhupada’s Godbrother, When good fortune arises , it never sets , those that have any relationship with Srila Gour Govinda Swami are forever and increasingly benefited.

When Arjuna was on the battlefield of Kuruksetra , a war that was fought on many fronts , Sadaputa prabhu , one of the original members of the Bhaktivedanta institute , mentioned there were millions of soldiers within a limited area , so it appeared to be a kind of universal war involving many demigods and demons from other regions . Anyhow , the beginnings of the Bhagavad Gita tell how Arjuna initially was not prepared to fight. The early parts of the Bhagavad Gita explore his arguments , so one can carefully read of why he did not want to fight and for seemingly good reasons , and importantly one can read how Krishna instructed Arjuna on all of his concerns.
Arjuna became bewildered because he had to, and rightly so , consider every type of moral and ethical behaviours as well as Vedic Sattvic Dharma , as a good warrior does . A good soldier is not a cold, ruthless killer . Certainly, soldiers are absolutely forbidden to kill women and children or any citizens , which is condemned by universal laws and reactions will be had long into the futures. Legitimate warfare is a tricky business to contemplate and enact, and many considerations should be made . Arjuna turned to Krishna , the Supreme Personality of Godhead, and submitted himself to Him because Arjuna was confused. He asked Krishna what he should do in the circumstances and what would be the right course of action for him . Arjuna , importantly, and obviously had initial faith that Krishna would give him good advice . Authorities must have a proven source of knowledge. The sentiments and mental energies of an individual are no authority.
At the point where Arjuna turned to Krishna and submitted himself in honesty and with humility, Krishna took up the position as Arjuna’s spiritual Guru . He thus chastised Arjuna calling him Mudha , a fool , for thinking he was speaking learned words in his giving the reasons why he had not been prepared to fight . Krishna began to point out Arjuna’s lack of real knowledge both materially , in his Dharmic considerations , and spiritually in terms of what the consciousness is , ie an eternal energy completely seperate from matter in all its forms . Krishna related to Arjuna what the ultimate duty is for mankind and also what the ultimate morality was . Krishna was taking both spiritual and material duties into consideration. Spiritual consciousness and its balanced development are always a priority for everyone , and , of course, that is what Krishna teaches within the Bhagavad Gita . Arjuna was only initially calculating things that were to satisfy his own limited interests. The Bhagavad Gita is an essential read for all persons. It is the practical life manual and suits all people in all walks of life. Nothing is absent. Everyone is differently situated materially and spiritually, but the Bhagavad Gita situates everyone.
The important point here is that Arjuna initially turns to Krishna with faith and is prepared to hear from Krishna .Everyone has faith in something, but Krishna has been confirmed throughout universal history in all the Vedas as the original cause of all cause of both the material and spiritual dimensions , and essentially He has been accepted by the greatest of authorities . We must know the authentic teachers and reject those who speculate or accept others who speculate as their teachers .
After hearing from Krishna, Arjuna’s doubts were cleared , and all his misconceptions vanished . Bhagavad Gita makes everything clear to everyone. Arjuna intelligently surrendered WITHOUT RESERVATIONS , and he spoke as follows
Arjuna said: You are the Supreme Personality of Godhead, the ultimate abode, the purest, the Absolute Truth. You are the eternal, transcendental, original person, the unborn, the greatest. All the great sages such as Nārada, Asita, Devala and Vyāsa confirm this truth about You, and now You Yourself are declaring it to me.
This full surrender without reservations is required when it comes to taking Sri Guru , who is the true representative of Krishna’s, and who comes in many forms , both as Diksa and Siksa gurus . Sadhu Sastra and Guru are the three balanced principles., one checks the other .Whether Diksa or Sisksa , and in particular the highest sense of Siksa , of the higher Madhyama or Uttama , should not be doubted , but what he says the whole chain of param para Gurus must say . He can be questioned, but we must be prepared to accept his answers , as Arjuna accepted Krishna’s answers.
It might take time to understand Sri Guru, but we must be patient , and Krishna will help us . A bone fide Guru as Krishna was to Arjuna , explains everything logically with reference to authority , such a Uttama Guru or high Madhyama can be and should be surrendered to without reservation.
Why should I have any interest in an ancient scripture called the Srimad Bhagavatam? Most people will ask , what does it contain anyway? what is in it for me, or what benefits can it offer society as a whole? How can such ancient literature possibly have any relevance in today’s technological world with fast communication and instant pleasures for the body , mind, and senses. Modern globalists say that economic development is liberating the world from poverty and bringing new improved lives far better than life used to be, and we don’t want to go back in time .
These kind of questions many people will naturally ask when approached by those who study the science of self-realization contained within the Bhagavatam . The Bhagavatam contains numerous topics within its 18000 verses , sciences of many kinds , including time relativity and cosmic karmic synchronicities, sociology , socio-political governance and compliance systems , as well as the responsive universe and its atomic and ethereal implications on the free will , determinism and justice is written on , and much much more . The study of consciousness within the confines of matter is an essential topic , and scientific materialism, as well as the Darwinian hypothesis, puts a stop to these natural mysteries that many persons of this age refuse to confront . The substrata of the material universe is fundamentally atomic; so says the Srimad Bhagavatam. Coincidentally, Niels Bohr, who helped define the Copenhagen interpretation of quantum physics, also studied the Vedas closely. The Bhagavatam describes material nature as a quantum reality driven by an ethereal mind with endless possibilities .Karmic synchronicities are at play in the responsive ethereal and atomic universe, this reality which responds to the free will and determinism of each individual within it , is described in the third and fifth Canto of the Srimad Bhagavatam. The Srimad Bhagavatam also elaborates fully on multidimensional spacetime and the living beings who are differently subjected . This ethereal plane , as yet undetected by sciences, has an existence that defines and is immediately linked to the current laws of quantum and classical physics. This is free will and determinism at play on multiple platforms.
What is the origin of the Srimad Bhagavatam?
The Srimad Bhagavatam is a natural commentary on the Vedanta Sutras. ‘Veda’ means ‘knowledge’, and ‘anta’ means ‘ultimate’. The Vedanta sutra comprises of condensed forms of information .They are sort of codes or stanzas that can be greatly expanded upon by the pure representatives of them .The Vedanta sutra itself is a distillation of the original knowledge from the four Vedas written by the sage Vyasadeva. These voluminous original four Vedas give directions to mankind for all kinds of developments and progress in every conceivable way that is needed for mankind. At the same time, they underline the main purpose of human life is to link to God and learn to love God.
All living beings already have a connection with God , He is situated within all beings. Inspiration, for example, is a phenomenon that clearly exists. Researchers, philosophers, and scientists often comment that ‘eureka’ moments confront them at the unlikeliest of moments. Shopping for food or perhaps feeding the pet dog . The physicist Richard Feynman has commented that an intense focus of attention to a sticky problem predictably leads to an extraordinary emergeance of solutions. Similar experiences are shared by many in an unusual manner during creative and artistic moments.
The achievements of writers and philosophers should not be overlooked but rather judged by their merits. Vyasadeva compiled the Vedas many thousands of years ago, and these are inspired works by any estimation. As a literary incarnation of God himself, He is the source of all inspiration . If one examines Vyasadeva’s works, one will discover on inspection, he has some very pertinent things to say about every aspect of life.
The Srimad Bhagavatam presented to you by the scholar and devotional practitioner Srila A.C. Bhaktivedanta Swami Prabhupada is a commentary on the original four Vedas along with their summary , the Vedanta Sutra. It incorporates the teachings of four original professors of spiritual knowledge, namely Lord Brahma, Sri Laxmi , the Kumara sages, and Lord Shiva. These professors of knowledge established lineages, known as ‘sampradayas’, they protect and pass down the Vedic knowledge from one generation to another. Historically , and according to time and circumstance, the above historical scholars of the Indian sub-continent presented the full picture of the Absolute Truth systematically . The full picture of the individual living being and God is presented. They are inconceivably one and different from one another. Each of the eminent scholars brings to the fore similar conclusion, but in slightly different ways. They all inform us of the big picture. An appreciation of the ‘advaita-vada’, or ‘oneness’, of one scholar, should be balanced with an appreciation of the ‘dvaita-vada’ or ‘difference’ from God, of another scholar .
A.C. Bhaktivedanta Swami is a follower of the teachings of Sri Caitanya Mahaprabhu, who is Krishna Himself , and He is the most recent exponent of the teachings of the Srimad Bhagavatam along with the explicit truth of the inconceivable oneness and difference of each living being with God .Sri Chaitanya Mahaprabhu entrusted His teachings to His direct disciples Sanatana Goswami, Rupa Goswami, Jiva Goswami and Raghunatha das Goswami, who in turn established His teachings on a sound scriptural and philosophical basis. From neutrality through to divine conjugal love. These relationships are described in the Vedas as confidential, more confidential, and most confidential.
A.C. Bhaktivedanta Swami explains in his introduction to the Bhagavatam that the broad conception of ‘God’ is not on the same level as a realisation of the Absolute Truth , The Supreme Personality of Godhead Sri Krishna. The Srimad Bhagavatam brings into focus the Absolute Truth , the Supreme Personality of Godhead Sri Krishna , who Himself possesses innumerable energies which are manifested in the perfect design and perfect order we witness around us . Krishna is the cause of all causes , who is acting through his many expansions to facilitate the free will of the individual being in this world . Krishna also fashions nature in such a way as to guide and correct living entities so that they are given opportunities to restore themselves to their constitutional position of spontaneous love of God .
The principles of the Bhagavatam can be applied in all fields , political, social, economic, judicial, military, sociological etc etc , and they’re principles that can raise the merit of any value system. There is much that can be gleaned in the Bhagavatam for the spiritual upliftment of all living beings . The spiritual perfection of love for Krishna encompasses and includes love for every living thing since all living things are eternally parts and parcels of Him. The symptoms of someone completely on the spiritual platform are the absence of all anxieties and satisfaction along with bliss . There is no personal concern for material loss , nor hankering for material temporary gains whatsoever. This state is termed the “param gatim”, the supreme goal of life superseding all other goals, and quite naturally the goal which should always be born in mind.
Although the mechanistic Darwinian puts it all down to superstition & traits of evolution , there is a common thread in various cultures throughout the world of the worship of various Demigods and Goddesses . It should not be ignored but rather examined and deeply thought about in philisophical and theological ways and scientifically in terms of a culture of consciousness bringing peace and satisfaction, and incidentally a change in the way neurons within the brain fire . Lord Siva , Lord Bramha , Lord Indra have their counterparts in all cultures. The Goddesses originate from Srimati Radharani. For example . Lakshmi: The goddess of wealth, fortune, and prosperity. Saraswati: The goddess of knowledge, music, art, and wisdom. Parvati: The goddess of love, fertility, and devotion. Durga: The warrior goddess of feminine power who protects against negative forces. Kali: The fierce goddess of time, change, and the destruction of evil. Each of these Goddesses has different expansions and names within different cultures and traditions , for example , the Greek Gods and Goddesses , the God’s and Goddesses are universal. The purpose of the worship of demigods and Goddesses is to seek various benedictions . By doing so, one learns to respect and develop faith in planes of existence beyond our gross physical world , higher consciousness and beings that live beyond atoms ,elements, and compounds are discussed in the Vedas .Gaining faith and realisations of such decending benedictions that are originating from higher planes can bring us closer to the original Supreme Personality of Godhead Sri Krishna . All sorts of benedictions can be sought, providing an understanding of the purpose sacrifices can be understood. Sacrifices and atonement bears fruit . Ultimately, this should lead to the benefits of the gradual spiritual evolution of knowledge culminating in the greatest of good fortune . The direct services of the Supreme Goddess of fortune Srimati Radharani, from whom all the Goddesses are expanded for many reasons. Srimati Radharani services to Krishna in Goloka Vrndavana are the greatest exhibitions of spontaneous love both in union and separation. In Her form as Laxmi, she attends to the services of Lord Visnu . Ultimately, if one can acquire the association of a pure Gaudia vaisnava devotee , who follows Sri Caitanya Mahāprabhu one can enter into the association of Srimati Radharani and her Manjari associates . Such is the power of Srimati Radharani alluring nature , that Krishna , the Supreme Personality of Godhead, is forever seeking Her association and is always hankering for Her beautiful glances and smiles . She is the Supreme Goddess of fortune. In her original eternally blissful and ever new and ever enthusiastic playful form , Vrsabhanu Nandini , Srimati Radharani , the Supreme Goddess of fortune, is the Guru , and Krishna is Her disciple , these mysterious circumstances are played out in their loving affairs. Srila Rupa Goswami writes on these topics . Sri Caitanya Mahāprabhu has revealed all these truths to the Goswamis of Vrndavana , who have composed many slokas and written extensively revealing to the world , the secret of all secrets .
So why not worship the Supreme Goddess of fortune, Srimati Radharani, who is only too willing to award Her sincere following the best of what’s in existence in both the material and spiritual realms , and as She gives it to you ,through Sri Caitanya Mahāprabhu , the blissfulness increases. She is the abode of love, and what she gives , Via Mahāprabhu , is knowledge of Her object of love, Lord Krishna. There is an eternal competition of love between these two , and Chanting Hare Krishna means Radha Krishna and a desire to bring them together and assist Them .
Stability , fairness and progress on all fronts can only ever be achieved if its based on ethics , morality ,respect and self-evident truths of equality of all beings before Divinity. You can not have economic development when it’s driven by immorality, violence, and exploitation that stems from ignorance of scientific dualism and all kinds of speculations of clear objective sciences. One follows the other when life is on track , the Vedic advice is only ever listen to the Sattvic intelligentsia and never passionate fools who promise the earth while destroying it and all that live within it .

However, when Napoleon took charge, he immediately attacked the strongest elements of the enemy , this caught the enemy by complete surprise, and thus, they retreated from the battle in shock being unfamiliar with such boldness and these types of straightforward tactics.
Similarly , Srila B.R. Swami says that Nityananda prabhu attacks the strongest elements of Maya , those who are the most degraded receive immediate relief . One can say mercy above justice . In doing so , those that are afflicted by Kali yuga and who are feeling the strongest influences are very quickly lifted , and extraordinary it is that such rescued persons become the teachers of the rest of humanity at large .Sometimes in spiritual consciousness what appears as simple is the most exhalted. Krishna Himself took the position of a chariot driver and Arjuna ordered Him to move the Chariot .Jesus Christ was born in a stable. Many examples within the Vedas can be given in those regards .

At times, modern spiritual movements lose this spirit and concern themselves with a softer safer approach, yoga kirtan , temple building, and practically finding no problems with modern economics . It’s become very popular to teach psychology in one form or another these days and have smiling Gurus. AC Bhaktivedanta Swami and Srila Bhaktisiddhanta Sarasvati Goswami Maharaj would look very, very stern at times and unleash uncompromising statements and challenges.
